Christopher D. Berk

Assistant Professor


Christopher D. Berk is an Assistant Professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. His research and teaching interests span the law, politics, and philosophy of punishment, with a particular concern for the relationship between democratic politics and penal law.

Professor Berk received his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago, along with a joint-degree, an M.L.S., from the University of Chicago Law School. Before coming to Mason, he was a post-doctoral fellow in Political Philosophy, Policy & Law at the University of Virginia.
