Graduate Nondegree Admissions

The Schar School of Policy and Government offers students the opportunity to take courses within our school in nondegree status. This option is suitable for those individuals who do not currently wish to pursue a degree, but are interested in taking graduate courses that are offered by the Schar School.

Application Requirements

  • A completed undergraduate degree
  • Graduate application and fee
  • Current resume
  • Unofficial transcripts from all previous institutions attended in the U.S.
    • For international institutions, transcripts may be unofficial but should include cumulative transcripts, degree certificates, individual semester marksheets (if applicable), and diploma (if applicable).

Please note that international students seeking F-1 or J-1 visas or those holding F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible to apply for nondegree study.

Application Deadlines

Fall entry: August 15 (space available)

Spring entry: December 15 (space available)

If a nondegree student decides to seek admission into degree status, he/she must reapply for admission using the Application for Graduate Study and submit all required credentials. If admitted into the degree program, a maximum of four classes taken in nondegree status may be applied towards a degree program.
