Schar School Student Ambassadors are undergraduates who are deeply invested in the Schar School of Policy and Government who wish to participate in our school’s outreach, orientation, and recruitment efforts. Our Ambassadors are all high-achieving students who are connected to groups all across Mason.
By becoming a Schar School Student Ambassador, you will be able to get a kind of access to the Schar School staff and faculty that is otherwise impossible to cultivate. By assisting with our outreach, you’ll be able to shape the program for years to come, and use your experience to leverage other opportunities in the future.
Feel free to connect with any of our student ambassadors. Their profiles and email addresses can be found below.
I chose Mason because of the diversity and networking opportunities that stem from being so close to D.C. Also, Mason has highly qualified faculty and incredible programs.

I chose Mason because of the diversity. I grew up in Arlington, VA in a neighborhood filled with kids from different cultures and backgrounds. I wanted a school that would make me feel accepted and where I could be surrounded by people who had the same mentality. Mason has an immense amount of diversity and a strong Hispanic community which made it feel like home. Additionally, I was a part of the Early Identification Program from freshman year of high school to junior year. I had come to the campus many times before so I was already very well adjusted.
Involved in Alpha Kappa Psi National Business Fraternity and interned with the Virginia General Assembly as a legislative aide.
Why did I choose Mason? The school is booming with people from all over the world and I get to experience almost every culture in the world without leaving the country right here at Mason. The opportunities are endless – with the instant connections, jobs, internship and research opportunities Mason offers, anyone can follow their dreams here.
GVIP, double minors in Intelligence Analysis and International Security.
Campus involvement includes Taekwondo Club sports team and College Republicans, serves as a Resident Advisor.
There were many reasons why Mason was the only school I applied to and why I wanted to come here. I looked at the political science and international relations programs at many different in-state colleges and found that Mason had a much larger selection of classes that were extremely interesting and applicable to the career field I want to join. The proximity to DC also opens to the door for fitting in an internship into my schedule of classes in a given semester.
Double major in GVIP and English.
Active member of Model UN and a Global Politics Fellow.
I chose Mason because of all of the amazing opportunities the Schar School has to offer. I knew that Mason would put me in the perfect position to ensure the greatest possibilities for my academic and professional career. More than anything, however, I walked on to Mason’s campus and instantly felt at home. I knew that Mason and the Schar School were the school and program that could help me to grow as a person and a professional.
