Alumni Chapter Board, Member at Large
Layla currently works on state education policy issues at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). Layla graduated from George Mason University’s Master of Public Policy program in May 2012 with an emphasis in education policy. While at GMU, Layla served as a Student Ambassador, an International Student Liaison, and was the Secretary for the New Voices in Public Policy journal. She currently serves as the Secretary on the Schar School Alumni Association Board and leads the Student Support Committee that strives to connect alums with the needs of prospective and current students as well as new alumni.
Prior to Mason, Layla was a consultant for four years at various agencies of the Federal government including Department of Energy, Veterans’ Affairs, and Homeland Security. Layla graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2006. In her free time, Layla enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and cooking.
