Sample Class: U.S. Democracy Health Check – 2020 Elections, Voting, and Beyond
By Mason Goad October 09, 2020
Basic civics education is important to us at the Schar School of Policy and Government, which is why Associate Professor Jennifer Victor recently hosted a sample class for prospective students on the U.S. democratic process, the 2020 elections, and the future of the American republic. Victor, who studies American elections, campaign finance, and many more areas of U.S. politics, brought a wealth of knowledge along to her session.
Victor’s lecture covered fundamental political science theories related to the election and voting processes, and applied them to the realities of the 2020 election. By the end of the session, those in attendance left with a new framework to be participant observers and knowledgeable members for future American political events.
