Biography
Dr. Yeo pioneered the development of the ‘AI Thinking model’ and ‘KAIST AI Management Program’ for the first time. Through these initiatives, he has mentored over 300 industry leaders and policymakers, fostering innovation and transformative leadership.
Hyeon Yeo’s experience includes academia, government, journalism, and international organizations. He was presidential staff and ministerial advisors in government: presidential house, justice, industry and resources, and education, editorial writer, CEO and consultant of business and international organizations, and academia.
Recognized as a visionary thought leaders, Dr. Yeo is credited for his groundbreaking strategies, innovations, and bestselling book. Among his notable achievements is his audacious endeavor to establish the New York campus. Currently, he serves as the Executive Chair of the G-School Global Campus Committee/New York Campus Committee, Distinguished Professor of KAIST-NYU Innovation Institute and School of Tech Management & Innovation (KAIST). He also leads as Chair professor of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Business Transformation Program for Executives and Public Leaders at KAIST.
Dr. Yeo’s academic career includes roles as Professor & campus COO (Vice president level) at University of Aberdeen (UK), Distinguished faculty member at the George Mason University (USA), Distinguished Visiting Professor at FPT(Vietnam), Visiting professor and Dean’s advisor to Business School at Colorado State University (USA), Visiting Scholar at University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University (USA). In Korea, he served as Professor & Dean of Graduate School of Business, and faculty at Yonsei University (Korea). Currently, he leads as Chair professor of the AIB (Artificial Intelligence Business Transformation Program) for Executives and Public Leaders at KAIST.
Beyond academia, Dr. Yeo contributes to global innovation and policy-making. He serves for the 4th Industrial Revolution Committee (Chair) of Korea-American Chamber of Commerce (USA); Korea Artificial Intelligence Association (Vice President); Seoul Institute of Technology (Seoul Mayor’s Committee, Korea). As global activities, he was Representative & Senior advisor for World Economic Forum(Switzerland), and the Global Reporting Initiative(GRI, Netherlands), an esteemed institute based in Amsterdam. Dr. Yeo also provided counsel to the Minister of Industry & Resources, Minister of Justice (Korea), the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Bid Advisory Committee (Korea). His advisory roles extend to global organizations such as LG Electronics (USA), EAC Valuations LLC. (USA), Vietnam Investment Review, and IPG Legal in matters related to government relations, education law, foreign trade & investment.
Currently, he serves as Executive Chair of KAIST G-School Global Campus Committee and Executive Chair & Distinguished Scholar of NYU-KAIST Innovation Institute US.
