Biography

Peter Balint is professor emeritus of public policy in the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. He teaches courses on environmental policy and politics and on research methods and data analysis.

His research addresses various aspects of environmental policy, including community-based conservation, natural resource management, and the management of so-called wicked environmental problems.

He has a PhD in policy studies and an MS in sustainable development and conservation biology from the University of Maryland. Before his university career, he taught English for more than 20 years in the inner city, alternative public high schools of Albany, New York.
