Join the Chief Economist of the World Trade Organization, Dr. Robert Koopman, a Representative of the European Parliament, Helena Halldorf-Romero, and Schar School Professor J.P. Singh to discuss the future of the World Trade Organization. This will be an opportunity to consider the role of the multilateral trade system at a very critical time. The panel will be moderated by Professor Ken Reinert, director of the Master's in International Commerce and Policy program.
This session is ideal for students interested in the Schar School’s Master’s in International Commerce and Policy and Graduate Certificates in Illicit Trade Analysis and Strategic Trade programs, but all prospective students are welcome to register.

ABOUT THE PANEL
Robert Koopman is the Chief Economist and Director of the Economic Research and Statistics Division at the World Trade Organization. He provides the secretariat and member countries with analysis and information that promotes a deeper understanding of trade and trade policy's role in economic growth and development.
Helena Halldorf-Romero is the Secretariat of the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade (INTA), which plays a decisive role in the definition of the Union's trade policy. The INTA evaluates all EU trade and investment agreements and leads the debate about the future shape of international trade.
Professor J.P. Singh has authored books and articles on international trade and development, national and international cultural policies, and international negotiations and diplomacy. He has advised the World Bank and the World Trade Organization for trade and international development, and the British Council and UNESCO on international cultural policies.
Professor Kenneth Reinert is director of the Schar School's Master's in International Commerce and Policy program. He has published over 80 papers in the areas of international trade, economic development, and environmental policy, and has consulted for the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, the OECD Development Centre, and the US Department of Commerce.
