You’re invited to attend a virtual session for prospective students to learn more about the Schar School of Policy and Government and our graduate programs.

This "Policy Exchange" session will focus on the foreign policies and politics of the Biden administration. What are the pillars of such policies? How is Biden's approach similar and different from previous administrations, including Trump's and Obama's administrations? The panelists will be paying particular attention to the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.

ABOUT THE PROFESSORS

Photo of Professor Philip Martin

Professor Philip Martin teaches courses on conflict and peacebuilding, comparative politics, and Africa, with. His research focuses on the legacies of civil wars for state formation and democracy, using archival, interview, and survey-based methods. 

Photo of Professor Jo-Marie Burt

Professor Jo-Marie Burt has published widely on political violence, state-society relations, human rights and transitional justice in Latin America. More recently, her research has focused on the ways post-conflict societies confront demands for justice and accountability after atrocity.

Professor Colin Dueck's research focuses on the relationship between party politics, presidential leadership, American conservatism, and U.S. foreign policy strategies. He has worked as a foreign policy adviser on several Republican presidential campaigns, and acted as a consultant for the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and the National Security Council.
