Amanda Attiya is a Research Analyst at the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP). At NASHP, she works with the Emerging Policy Issues Team on projects related to prescription drug pricing, health system costs, telehealth, and evidence-based policymaking. Her work currently has her tracking state legislative action to lower hospital costs, in addition to each state’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from George Mason University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration with a double concentration in Public Policy and U.S. Government Institutions and a minor in Health and Social Policy. During her time at Mason, she served as a Schar School Ambassador, Mason Ambassador, Resident Assistant, and Student Government Senator. She currently lives in Bowie, MD where she spends her free time dancing, editing other people’s essays, and searching out the perfect NJ-style bagel.
