J.J. Stakem is the Founder of Objective Area Solutions LLC, a management consulting firm focused on the public sector. Mr. Stakem has over 17 years of experience in the areas of organization development, strategic planning, performance management, process improvement and implementation, workforce planning, and training across a wide variety of public and private sector clients. As a professional consultant, he has managed programs for the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of State, and private industry. Mr. Stakem has significant international experience and has managed multiple projects for the U.S. Government, particularly focused on building capacity with partner nations in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.

Mr. Stakem serves as a member of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government Alumni Board and, as a former Marine Corps Officer, is particularly focused on veteran outreach and engagement for current and prospective students. He holds a Master of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia.

He is a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor in fixed-wing and helicopter aircraft. In his spare time, he enjoys recreational flying at the Leesburg Airport and spending time with his wife and two children.
