Emily Mark currently works at the Department of State (DoS) as the Acquisition Lead for all Human Capital contracts. Previous to her employment at DoS, she started her federal career at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where she advanced to become the Acquisition Program Manager for several mission critical DHS programs. Ms. Mark has received multiple awards recognizing her efforts in acquisition planning, contract administration, and program management.

Ms. Mark attended the Ohio State University and graduated in May 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science. She continued her education to graduate in December 2009 with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government, with a concentration in International Management.

Ms. Mark is involved in several professional organizations and nonprofits. In 2005, she and three of her college colleagues founded the EAGLE (Empowering Asian Global Leaders to Excellence) and HAY (Healthy Asian Youth) nonprofits which are based in Columbus, Ohio and serve Asian American youth and their families.
